Early Morning breakfast

Last night (this morning) my buddy and I found ourselves hungry at 5:30am so I decided to do a simple breakfast sandwich.
Here it is:
Ham sauteed with onion, sage, cumin, garlic
Sharp cheddar, and Russian white cheese
Bread for Life 7 sprouted grain bread
2 eggs,
1 oz. milk
Hungarian Noodle Bake(extra fine egg noodles, russian wt. cheese garlic, splash of hot sauce)

Happy Tuesday!

Happy holidays?

Seems I have gotten a nice mix of the offerings of the season. Depression, betrayal/abandonment, happiness, family/too much family, wonderful gifts, new motivation, new outlook, old friends... and yet I am sitting here with the feeling that something huge is missing...
More cooking and updates to come!
cliff notes: kz400 is back in the garage ready for more work,
4g64 Frankenstein engine is still waiting for new torque wrenches,
food blogs will happen at least once a week!
That's all..
till we meet..
be well..

its been a second...

Hello blogger world, I am finally updating with some decent photos of what I have been up to in the garage and my life this last summer.

First off I pulled the motor and performance parts out of my 1991 Mitsubishi Galant vr4 #582/2000, in anticipation of a part-out due to extensive chassis rust.

The Motor made it to Chicago to its new home in an club member's gvr4 that was in need of a heart.

A tired rig resting in the soft streetlamp glow

Two random shots in chi-town

and look what we found on the way to south bend :D

Now we take a break and jump forward a few weeks from the trip to the city.

Dinner consisted of:
snap peas from the garden sauteed with ginger, shallots, tamari and a touch of honey.

Pork chops(yes again) speared with fresh garlic, and stuffed with apples and arugula butter.

Not quite back to the garage yet...
Deck build set me back a few days, sure is nice though!

Now its to the north for a few days in and around Elk Rapids. Mostly just relaxing, too much in fact to take photos save canoeing the Platt River.

Back at the garage, its time to remove the 2.0l n/a stock motor from my 1991 Mitsubishi Galant gsx automatic, to make a room for a new 2.4l n/a power-plant rescued from my late great 1992 Mitsubishi Expo wagon which I crushed at the beginning of the summer.

Out she comes!

Timm and myself enjoying the new space in the engine bay

2.0l out motor sharing space on my makeshift "engine bench" with the 2.4l waiting to be stripped and shipped to Auto Parts Machine in Ann Arbor.

More to come soon....

Wednesday at the farm

Yesterday after a slow morning I got down to the farm and proceeded to tinker with Johns '50s mercury monterey (air-ride), then moved on to help Ray on his sisters '94 satern SL(right side: brake and lower control arm), then finally tine's scubydoo(mystery clunk, fuel odor). Sadly only pictures of the subaru turned out--damn cell cameras...

Then after the day was done, a little sweetened fresh strawberrys with balsamic, lime and cottage cheese :D Perfect cool-sweet ending to a full warm day.

grilled porkchops with sweet shallot carrots

This was a dinner a few nights back: Grilled porkchops(simple dryspice/lemon/br. sugar marinade) sweet shallot carrots(br. sugar, shallots, carrots) grilled assorted wild mushrooms(mushies, olive oil, s n' p).
